The Foundation for Economic Education has on Nov. 23 2024 granted 5,002,350 euros in funding to 403 projects. Grant applications totaled €29,537,167, of which 16.9 % were awarded.
The research groups were allocated a total of 1.0 million euros. The topics of the 10 research groups include, among others, include global stakeholder collaboration to enhance societal resilience and security of supply, the impact of climate change-related media risks on international financial markets, business relations between Finland and Sweden in a changing geopolitical landscape, and the role of immigrants in driving business growth and innovation.
In the 2024 thematic special project, Innovation, Commercialization, and Growth, 44 projects received a total of 636,000 euros in funding to support initiatives enhancing the competitiveness of Finnish businesses. The topics that stand out are innovation management, commercialization, and international markets, particularly positioned within the focus areas of Business Renewal and Industrial Dynamics.
The grants are primarily allocated to the Fund’s five focus areas: Future Sustainable Environment (€1.47 million), Industrial Dynamics (€0.73 million), Leadership Competence (€0.65 million), Business Renewal (€0.64 million), and Entrepreneurship, Scaling, and Growth (€0.56 million).
About half of the grants are for individual doctoral and postdoctoral research. Other uses include research visits, conference travel, organizing conferences and seminars, and other purposes named in the projects.
Named and designated funds established through donations to the Foundation cover 1.74 million euros (34.8%) of the total grants. These include 248,800 euros allocated in the pooled funds Leadership and Business Management as well as Textiles and Fashion.
