The grants cover 23.4% of applied sum total EUR 18.78 million.<\/p>\n<p>From the application call for 3-year research groups, <strong>10 research groups received grants<\/strong>, totaling <strong>EUR 1.01 million<\/strong>. The groups conduct pioneering research on, e.g. responsible development of the platform economy, capabilities needed for digitalisation, market sustainability, block chains, finance, circular economy, and ethics of gaming.<\/p>\n<p>Check out the round\u2019s research groups <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lsr.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Liikesivistysrahaston-2021-kierroksen-tutkimusryhmat-3.pdf\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a> (pdf, in Finnish).<\/p>\n<p>The distribution of the Fund&#8217;s five focus areas is as follows: <strong>Future Sustainable Environment<\/strong> (EUR 1.25 million), <strong>Business Renewal<\/strong> (EUR 0.84 million), <strong>Data Economy<\/strong> (EUR 0.84 million), <strong>Entrepreneurship, Scaling and Growth<\/strong> (EUR 0.58 million), and <strong>Leadership Competence<\/strong> (EUR 0.57 million).<\/p>\n<p>In the <strong>Pooled Funds<\/strong> that complement the focus areas of the Fund, a total of <strong>EUR 125,000 to eight projects<\/strong> was targeted from the special funds. The topics of the pools \u2013 typically close to a science field or an industry branch \u2013 were forestry, bio- and circular economics, and global trade.<\/p>\n<p>In accordance with its rules, the Foundation for Economic Education supports higher economic research and education, at the university level. The aim is especially to promote Finland&#8217;s economic growth and the competitiveness of its businesses. Global political, economic and ecological changes are affecting the operation of the non-profit fund, obliging it to an ever more purposeful action.
