The term of office of the Supervisory Board is three calendar years. The Supervisory Board meets twice a year. It comprises no fewer than 36 and no more than 48 members, of whom approximately one third retire annually by rotation (Articles 12 and 13 of the Association\u2019s Rules).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lsr.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/LSR-valtuuskunta-1.1.-31.12.2026.pdf\">The Supervisory Board of the Foundation for Economic Education 2026<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Board<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the proposal of the Nominations Committee, the Supervisory Board elects the <strong>Board<\/strong>, which consists of 6 to 10 members of the Association. The term of office of a Board member is three years, with one third of the members retiring annually by rotation. A Board member may be elected for no more than four consecutive terms of office. The Board appoints, for a term of one year at a time, a <strong>Grants Committee<\/strong> for the Association, decides on the allocation of grants, and appoints the <strong>Managing Director<\/strong> (Articles 7 and 8 of the Association\u2019s Rules).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-8f761849 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Grants Committee<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The duties of the Grants Committee are to:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>consider applications relating to grants and awards<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>submit to the Board proposals for decisions on grants, unless the right to make such proposals is otherwise provided for under the special fund regulations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>prepare for the Board proposals on strategic grant policies, monitor their continued relevance, and, where necessary, propose amendments to those policies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>(Rules of Procedure of the Grants Committee, Sections 1 and 2)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Board appoints the members of the Grants Committee, as well as its Chair and Vice-Chair.
